Vegan Diet Benefits: How A Plant Based Diet Can Improve Your Health Leave a comment

Our mission is to help people feel good, not only about their appearance but also about their health through exercise and eating a vegan diet. All the work and exercise we put into improving our physique will be wasted when we inevitably encounter illness and disease. This is why we recommend eating a vegan diet for all our clients as it will not only be easier to reach your fitness goals but your health will improve greatly as a result.

Eating The Correct Vegan Diet

Eating the correct diet is an essential factor for staying in shape that most of us overlook. Recently, science has been showing us that a plant-based diet is the most effective way to reduce your risk of being overweight.

If you eat meat your chances of gaining weight is about 2 in 3

Meat contains high levels of saturated fat and cholesterol. In comparison to a plant-based/vegan diet, which has no cholesterol and very little saturated fats found only in certain tropical plant oils like coconut oils. In addition, plants such as avocados contain healthy fats, which are digested much faster than fats found in animal products. The harmful artery-clogging effect caused by saturated fats is increased when consumed with cholesterol. In one breast cancer survival study, women who ate the most saturated fat after diagnosis increased the risk of dying by 41%.

It’s not only meat that we should be avoiding, dairy and eggs also have high levels of saturated fats. Not only do eggs increase our chances of being overweight but they also significantly increase our chances of atherosclerosis (heart disease). Reducing your life expectancy just as much as smoking 5 cigarettes a day for every egg we eat.

Eating 1 egg per day is just as bad as smoking 5 cigarettes per day for life expectancy

Is There Any Evidence Supporting a Vegan Diet?

Yes, Plenty! For instance, the ‘World Health Organisation’ has categorised meat as a class 1 carcinogen. Which is in the same category as smoking and is just as effective as causing cancer! Also, it is a known fact among the medical industry that meat contains cholesterol and saturated fats. Both contributing to the build-up of plaque in our arteries and the development of cardiovascular diseases like heart disease.

If you eat meat, chances of getting cancer if you’re a man is 1 in 2, if you’re a woman 1 in 3.

Not only have animal products been proven to be extremely unhealthy for us. But plants have actually been proven to reverse the disease that animal products cause. This information isn’t new! It has been around for a while and has been peer-reviewed by many credible doctors. There have even been many documented cases of people completely reversing our biggest killers like heart disease.

You can stop and reverse heart disease with plant-based diets.

Why Have I Never Heard About This?

The reason is simple – health care is one of the biggest industries that exist! For example, in the U.S treating chronic disease is a $1.5 trillion industry. So if there is no demand for healthcare products, these companies can’t profit and to keep you a returning customer they have no interest in treating you. The word health-care is a complete deception, the more accurate term is sick-care!

With every successful business comes marketing costs and the animal product industries are no different. The government who we all know has our best interests allows and supports these companies in advertising to public schools! Preparing young children to be lifetime supporters and consumers of their products. Not caring about the scientifically proven harmful effects that come with eating animal products.

The dairy industry spends at least $50 million promoting its products in public schools.

Staying Healthy

In order to stay in shape and keep healthy, it is very important to consume the right foods. Almost every health authority including the United States Department of Health recommend 6-8 servings of fruit and vegetables per day, however many few of us manage to achieve the recommended serving. An easy way of getting in the right amount of fruits and vegetables in your diet is by juicing them. Juicing extracts the nutrients, minerals and antioxidants of whole fruit and veg and saves the body the process of breaking down the foods into their nutrient components. Therefore, your body does not need to use energy digesting the pulp and other parts of the fruit/vegetable and allows the nutrients to go directly into the blood stream. A high quality juicer is important to extract all the nutrients, minerals and antioxidants of a fruit/vegetable without destroying some of the enzymes and oxidising the nutrients, rendering less nutritious juice.

Exercising a few times a week is also important. This doesn’t mean you have to go to the gym every day by lifting heavy weights and really pushing your self to the max. You can just walk for 20-30 minutes and this can really help your body. Whilst walking, if you think that you can walk longer or walk more days in a week, or even run a couple times a week, feel free to do so. Just listen to your body so you don’t overwork yourself.
